European buckthorn is beautiful wood, although hated for its invasive perseverance. This small crotch was turned yesterday (end-grain) along the axis of the main log. This gives an interesting winged bowl that contains the piths or centers of all three branches. The bowl has a maximum diameter of 12" from wing tip to wing tip, 6" high, and 1/4" wall thickness. I love experimenting with different ways to turn unusual pieces of wood.
