Description
Azure at Twilight
Inspired by a late autumn evening on Seagull Lake along Minnesota's Gunflint Trail, Azure at Twilight captures the fleeting transition between sunset and night. As the last warm light slipped below the horizon, the sky filled with luminous shades of azure, cyan, teal, and navy, mirrored across the calm surface of the lake. The final rays of sunlight gently illuminated the trunks of the leafless shoreline trees, creating a quiet moment of contrast between warm earth and cool sky.
The subtle shifts in light, reflection, and color that occur during twilight are easy to overlook. To recreate them, I hand-blended fine merino wool into dozens of custom color gradients, layering the fibers to build the soft transitions and atmospheric depth that define this peaceful scene.
