Description
Encountered on the storied Gunflint Trail, this bog is a landscape that has changed little since the first canoes passed through the region. It is woven into the history of the North, where the silent water once reflected the passing of voyageurs and the movements of Indigenous peoples who knew these waterways intimately. To stand here is to feel the persistent spirit of the Boundary Waters, where time is measured not in years, but in seasons, and the only modern sound is the quiet echo of a vast, unbroken wild.
